March 7, 2010 "Old" Jsmine Tosky is starting to make per presence felt.
She now ranks third all-time among 15-16 girls in the 100 fly after tonight's 52.84 and her 1:556.63 200 fly is also third all-time.
In the 100 free she's fifth all-time in her age-group (48.98).
Watch out for her in a few months @ CIF...national prep records in BOTH 100 fly/200 M IM could well be in offing.
She swims for Palo Alto Stanford and one would presume that the Cardinal would have the inside track for her services in three years (she's a tenth-grader this sesason.)
But ya' never knows.
Everyone thought Brian Goodell would attend USC -- which when he was @ Mission Viejo High 35 years ago was in midst of an NCAA Championship four-peat ('74-'77).
But he wound up a UCLA Bruin, swimming first for the legendary George Haines, then for Ron (Stix) Ballatore.
The father of the kid who'll likely be LA City prep hoops player of the year this season is a current USC assistant and the son "committed" to the Trojans after his eighth-grade year.
Now that he's the hottest basketball commodity in Southern California (6-7, 200 pounds and can dunk over NBA players) he's having second thoughts about where he'll attend college.
His dad played for Pepperdine and UNLV.
