July 23, 2010 What criteria did Swimming World use to establish the best male high school swimmer?
While these swimmers are certainly worthy it might have been more interesting to vote on a larger field including Connor Signorin and
Jack Wagner for example who have also left their mark on high school swimming this past season.

July 23, 2010 topswimmer,

I'm not sure the editors of Swimming World will divulge the criteria that picked the top male swimmer for the magazine, but as for this poll, we used only the three swimmers that set individual national high school records. No disrespect to Connor and Jack.

July 27, 2010 The criteria that goes into choosing Swimming World's National High School Swimmers of the Year is a mix of rankings in a swimmer's top three events, power point rankings, with a strong lean towards overall national high school records.

July 27, 2010 I'm surprised Vlad isn't doing better in this poll. He's one of the best high school swimmers of all time not just of the past year in my opinion.
